  1. First Debate was definetly a new experience. I mean one side was obviously more prepared than the other. Different thing to do.I didn't know we had to have an oppening statement. It was fun, hope to do more.

  2. Our debate was very fun. I liked the way that it was set up, we were all able to tell our side and give our reasoning. I don't think we got very far in the debate and we started repeating ourselves quite a bit. Besides not getting a real answer, it went very well.

  4. I feel like the debate went well for the first debate. We came up with a lot of great topics and made great points to prove our opinions right or wrong.

  6. I think the Debate was fun. It gave us a different perspective. We got to see how the people who said that Reconstruction was not a compromise. They said that Black Codes would not be around if they left it how it was. Also they were not any better than slavery if not worst than slavery.

  7. I honestly thought that debate was pretty fun. It may have been short, but both sides provided very great answers to find flaws in others' answers.

  8. I think the first debate went well for it being the first debate we have done this year. I know I could have been more prepared with and opening statement and a few more points to back up my argument. I felt the debate ended without a resolution and it stopped very abruptly. Overall I think it was an interesting experience that I would like to try again.

  9. The first debate went pretty well. Everyone had really great ideas. It was a fun experience and something that I would like to do again. I just didn't know that we were supposed to make a statement before we came in today.

  10. Our first debate went well. There were many great ideas brought up, some on topic and some off topic. Our debate lasted a bit, but ideas ran out pretty fast. Both sides did a great job explaining their reasoning. Overall, it was a great experience.

  11. This debate didn't go as well as I expected but I heard some great ideas coming from the class. I'd actually like to do this again sometime and participate.

  12. The first debate didn't go well not many people talked, but we had some good topics. More people need to participate in each group next time and think more deeply about what we are talking about in class.

  14. In my opinion I think the debate went well, however I found that it was difficult to argue from a side that I don't necessarily agree with. One side clearly had more evidence to back their arguments up than the other. Overall, I think this debate helped me better understand the Reconstruction. The debate was a new experience for me and I look forward to doing more in the future.

  16. the first debate was very argumentative. each side stuck to their side and supported their side well. some spoke about how they truly felt about reconstruction and did a good job. i think next time we should all speak up more because i can tell many had good things to talk about but didn't really want to speak up.

  19. The debate started off slow but as more and more people talked it got better there were a few things that got me on the edge of my feet but other that that it was good and next time i hope to go more deeply in the conversation because most of us were quiet and didn't know what to say are didn't know how to say it or were scared

  21. Our first debate as a history class together went alright, we defiantly had some dull moments. But I'm sure once we do more debates as a class we won't be shy to share our opinions.

  22. Our first class debate was alright over all, but I think that was quite short and very boring. Only a select few people were sharing any information with the rest of the group.

  23. The debate went well but not many people talked and we stayed on one topic instead of the multiple economic, political and social. The african Americans were greatly affected from the reconstruction because of the Freedom bureau which helped the blacks financially. This was helpful because it helped the blacks establish churches and education which they didn't have before. The amendments played a big part too because it helped the african americans with abolishing slavery, voting rights and citizenship. This was helpful to all people of unity but mostly the african Americans.

  24. The first debate was a good thing that we did, I mean people seemed interested throughout the whole thing. I liked doing this because i feel like i connected with the other kids in the class and learned a little more than I knew walking into class today!!

  25. The first debate was kind of boring. Non one really knew what to say other than a few people. Maybe if we warm up to each other, the next debate won't be as bad.

  26. This was my first debate since 8th grade and I forgot how things worked in a debate. One side was defiantly more prepared then the other and we really didn't get far. We also started repeating ourselves.
